MAPLE LEAF Prime™ Extra Lean Ground Turkey
¼ cup (50mL) 
Bread crumbs
1 tsp (5mL) 
Dried oregano
½ cup (125mL) 
Kalamata olives, pitted & chopped
1 tsp (5mL) 
Lemon zest
1 tbsp (15mL) 
Lemon juice
Egg
 
Salt & pepper to taste
4 oz (125g) 
Feta cheese
DEMPSTER’S® Pita Pockets
 
Tzatziki sauce, as desired
4 tbsp (60mL) 
Diced cucumbers
½ cup (125mL) 
Cherry tomatoes, halved
 
*This recipe was originally developed by the Turkey Farmers of Ontario. It has been modified by Maple Leaf Foods’ top chefs for superior taste and convenience.


Directions
PREHEAT barbeque grill to medium.

COMBINE turkey, bread crumbs, oregano, olives, lemon zest, lemon juice, egg, salt and pepper in a large bowl.

DIVIDE the turkey mixture into four equal portions and shape into large meatballs. Insert thumb into centre of each meatball to create a pocket.

PLACE 1 oz (30 g) of Feta in the centre of each meatball and close meat around cheese. Gently form meatballs into burger shape.

GRILL for 5-7 minutes each side or until the internal temperature of the meat reaches 170°F (77°C).

CUT each burger and pita pocket in half crosswise. Open pita pocket and fill with half burger, tzatziki sauce, cucumbers and tomatoes.

TIP: For a lighter lunch alternative, this recipe will yield 8 portions.
