Grilled Crostini with Blue Cheese, Pears and Walnuts

DEMPSTER’S® OvenFresh™ Baguette
2 tbsp (30mL) 
Olive oil, divided
2 tsp (10mL) 
Balsamic vinegar
2 tsp (10mL) 
Honey
Firm ripe pear, cored and sliced
 
Salt and pepper
 
Crumbled Blue cheese
 
Chopped walnuts, toasted


Directions
PREHEAT grill to medium.

COMBINE 2 tbsp (30 mL) olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, salt and pepper in a medium-sized bowl. Toss pears in mixture and set aside.

SLICE baguette crosswise on the diagonal into 12 equal slices. Brush both sides of baguette with remaining olive oil.

GRILL baguette slices for 3 to 4 minutes per side or until golden brown. Meanwhile, grill pears for 3 to 4 minutes per side or until slightly softened, basting occasionally with balsamic mixture.

REMOVE baguette slices and pears form grill. Top each baguette slice with cheese, grilled pear and chopped walnuts.
