DEMPSTER’S® Fruit & Berry Rye, cubed
Strips MAPLE LEAF® Bacon, chopped
Large onion, chopped
Stalk celery, chopped
Apple, cored and chopped
Cloves garlic, minced
½ tsp (2mL) 
Each salt and fresh cracked pepper
1 cup (250mL) 
chicken broth
2 tbsp (30mL) 
chopped fresh thyme

PREHEAT oven to 375˚F (190˚C).

COOK bacon in large saucepan over medium heat until cooked but not crisp, about 5 minutes. Stir in onion and celery and cook until onion is tender. Stir in apples, garlic, salt and pepper and cook one minute. Stir in bread, chicken broth and thyme until well combined.

TRANSFER to a greased baking dish. Bake until golden and top is crusty, about 25 minutes (or cook in turkey cavity if desired).

TIPS: REPLACE ½ cup (125 mL) of the chicken stock with white wine.
