Toasted Turkey and Mushroom Baguette

DEMPSTER’S® OvenFresh™ Baguette
1 tbsp (15mL) 
Vegetable oil
1 cup (250mL) 
Sliced mushrooms
1 (150g) 
Package MAPLE LEAF Prime® Fully Cooked Turkey Breast Strips
1/3 cup (75mL) 
OLIVIERI® Nutriwise Tomato and Basil Sauce
½ cup (125mL) 
Shredded Mozzarella cheese

PREHEAT oven to 400˚F (200˚C).

CUT baguette lengthwise and put back together; place on baking sheet in oven for 8 minutes. Meanwhile, add oil to a large skillet heated to medium-high.

SAUTÉ mushrooms for 3 to 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium, add turkey and pasta sauce; warm for 2 to 3 minutes.

REMOVE some of bread from bottom half of baguette to create a small cavity; spoon turkey mixture onto bottom half of baguette; Sprinkle with cheese and bake until cheese melts, about 2-3 minutes.

COVER with top half of baguette, cut in half crosswise and serve immediately.

BBQ TIP: BBQS with 2 Burners: PREHEAT barbeque grill to high by turning on both burners. TURN off one burner and lower heat of second burner to medium. PLACE baguette directly on the grill where the burner has been turned off. Cook with lid closed for 5 minutes. Turn baguette over and cook with lid closed for an additional 3 minutes. For barbecues with 3 burners follow directions above turning off one burner after preheating and placing bread directly on grill over the burner that has been turned off.
